About

Ann Shoebridge is a Sydney-based hat designer, illustrator, collaborator and creative director with a flair for the unexpected. Creating sculptural, colourful and distinctly chic headwear since 2003, Ann brings her contemporary art background and playful point of view to weddings, parties, catwalks and any occasion.

Her work is held in the Fashion and Textiles collections of the National Gallery of Victoria and the Powerhouse Museum, and has been exhibited at Sherman Contemporary Art Foundation and the NGV, including 200 Years of Australian Fashion. From Danish royal receptions to dance floors from Paris to Hong Kong, Ann’s hats have travelled the world. In Paris, she was the Australian finalist in The Hat Designer of the Year, judged by legendary British milliner Stephen Jones.

Collaboration is at the heart of Ann’s practice. She has worked with designers including Alix Higgins, Yeojin Bae and Alex Perry for Myer, and Alannah Hill, while her designs have been worn by celebrities and stocked by David Jones and Myer. Today, Ann focuses on bespoke creations and her online shop, bringing her signature world of colour, sculpture and joy directly to her clients.

In 2021, Ann launched Studio Ann Shoebridge—a colourful ready-to-wear collection of chic bows, mini berets and modern headpieces designed to make every day feel a little more fabulous.

Ann Shoebridge Milliner is a member of the Australian Fashion Council, supporting the creativity and future of Australian fashion and textiles.
